San Nicolás woke up to rain on this Saturday, greeting the Turismo Carretera grid with a wet track for the first practice session of the 12th round at the circuit. Luis José Di Palma made the absolute most of the treacherous conditions to lead the morning.
Driving a Toyota Camry for the RUS MED Team, the driver known as "Josito" stopped the clocks at a 1:38.590 in the #24 machine. That effort put him just 23 thousandths of a second clear of Nicolás Moscardini, who piloted a Dodge Challenger for the SAP Team.
Right behind them, Emiliano Spataro marked his milestone 300th Turismo Carretera race by claiming the third position. Operating his own Ford Mustang prepared by his personal team, Spataro ended the session 174/1000 behind the pace.
Rounding out the rest of the top ten in the morning session, Ricardo Risatti took fourth in a Ford, followed by Nicolás Trosset in fifth with another Ford, and Mauricio Lambiris sixth in a Ford. Julián Santero placed seventh in a BMW, Tobías Martínez eighth in a Chevrolet, Juan Bautista De Benedictis ninth in a Ford, and Facundo Chapur tenth in a Torino.
With the opening running completed, the Turismo Carretera field returns to the track at 12 hours for the final practice session of the weekend, with television and streaming coverage provided by Canal 9 and Motorplay.
