With just four rounds remaining on the 2026 calendar, Trotta Racing boss Esteban Trotta knows his squad has zero margin for error as they chase championship glory. The Chacabuco-based outfit currently has two of its three machines safely inside the Copa de Oro, represented by Ignacio Fain and race-winner Facundo Chapur.
Looking back at how things unfolded in San Luis, the weekend presented immediate hurdles before the cars even hit the track. Bad weather threatened to derail the entire schedule, though Esteban was quick to praise the sheer effort from the entire category and the teams for pulling the weekend through a very difficult start.

On track, however, the results were a mixed bag for the Trotta Racing garage. While Marcelo Agrelo started the weekend on a positive note, the Copa de Oro contenders had a rougher time early on. "En lo deportivo, para nuestro equipo, comenzó bien para Marcelo Agrelo y para quienes están en la Copa, Facundo Chapur e Ignacio Fain, no tanto porque quedaron bastante relegados," Esteban explained, adding that while Chapur managed a strong Sunday recovery, Fain struggled to climb back up and needs a bounce-back performance.
Now, the team's sights are firmly locked on the autódromo in San Nicolás—a venue where victory has somehow always slipped away from the Trotta Racing banner despite success in other racing categories. The memories from last year still sting a bit, when Chapur put his machine second in qualifying and secured a heat win only to hit trouble in the final. Even so, the belief inside the camp remains absolute.
With the championship battle rapidly closing in on its conclusion, staying out of trouble and collecting points at every single remaining round is the absolute priority. As Esteban put it regarding the vital need to see the checkered flag: "No quiero ni pensar en el tema de abandonar ya que es fundamental no hacerlo. Es tiempo de sumar hasta la última competencia para poder llegar con chances a la definición."
