That said, the noise coming out of the paddock can sometimes be deafening. As Motorsport.com reports, Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur has welcomed the public backing of his bosses and called on his squad to stay united rather than pointing fingers at each other amid a whirlwind of media speculation.
Now, the storm was originally kicked off by an interview in The Times where former Red Bull F1 chief Christian Horner mentioned that the Ferrari job would be a dream role. Even though he wasn't actively seeking it, that single comment was enough to ignite a massive media frenzy, particularly in Italy. That prompted Ferrari president John Elkann and CEO Benedetto Vigna to step in and release a statement making it crystal clear that the team has total confidence in Fred Vasseur and his people.
Fortunately, the drivers are firmly in his corner too. Both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc voiced their support for the boss, helping Vasseur push for a return to serenity in Maranello so the team can focus on finishing the season strongly while building out their 2027 car and power unit projects. Speaking in a press conference at F1's Bahrain Grand Prix—which was exceptionally held in Malaysia—Vasseur admitted that the nonstop rumors meant the team wasn't able to work in peace, making the official statement absolutely necessary to stop the constant distractions.
Yet, the internal chatter didn't completely stop there. While backing his team principal, Lewis Hamilton suggested that the organizational structure around Vasseur might need some tweaking moving forward, pointing to a different setup compared to what Toto Wolff works with, though the driver kept the specific details to himself.
Vasseur, however, isn't buying into the idea of a structural problem. He made it clear that pointing fingers would be a huge mistake, insisting that the squad wins together and suffers together as one unit. The team enjoyed a positive start to the season even if it's not quite enough yet, and despite struggling over the last couple of races, the factory is pushing hard to bring developments that will put them right back on the pace.
