There is a changing of the guard at Andretti Formula E. The squad has elevated Campbell Hobson to the role of team principal as they look ahead to the future.
Hobson is certainly no stranger to the garage. The Australian-born racing figure previously handled day-to-day operations as team manager before later serving as sporting director. This leadership change arrives at a crucial juncture for the organization, with the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship gearing up to enter the GEN4 era, billed as the fastest and most exciting chapter to-date.
Jill Gregory, President of Andretti Global and Chief Operating Officer of TWG Motorsports, expressed full confidence in the appointment. “Campbell has been instrumental in the operation, and we are very happy to see him take this opportunity to lead the team,” Gregory said. “He knows the program inside and out, has the respect of the team and brings the leadership and competitive drive we need as we look toward the future.”
Hobson steps into the shoes of Roger Griffiths, widely regarded as one of the most respected figures in the paddock. Griffiths vacates the post to take on a new senior advisory position, where he will continue to support both Andretti Formula E and the broader TWG Motorsports portfolio.
Griffiths leaves behind a massive legacy built over 12 seasons at the helm. Under his leadership, the team secured 13 victories, 46 podiums, and a Drivers’ World Championship with Jake Dennis.
Reflecting on his departure from the role, Griffiths shared his perspective: “Leading this team from the beginning has been one of the great privileges of my career, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built. After 12 seasons, this feels like the right time to pass the torch. Campbell has been a trusted part of our leadership for years and understands this organization at every level; he has earned this opportunity. I’m excited to support him while also contributing more broadly across Andretti and TWG Motorsports.”
The team will not have to wait long to begin this next chapter. Formula E returns to action on December 18 & 19 for the 2026 Jeddah E-Prix, marking the opening round of the 2026/27 season.
