Zane Maloney joins Oliver Rowland at Nissan for 2026/27

Here's the thing about building a powerhouse lineup in Formula E: you need a blend of raw speed and veteran cunning. Nissan has secured exactly that, pairing Oliver Rowland with Zane Maloney for the 2026/27 season as the team prepares for the incoming GEN4 car.

Rowland is keeping his seat for a fourth consecutive year, extending a deep relationship with the Japanese manufacturer that stretches all the way back to its Season 5 debut in 2018/19. Since coming back to the squad in the GEN3 era for Season 10, the 34-year-old has put together some of the finest drives of his career. That run includes claiming the Drivers' title in Season 11, alongside six podiums and a stunning victory on the streets of Monaco last campaign to take fourth in the Drivers' World Championship—maintaining his flawless record of top-four finishes every year since his return.

"I'm delighted to continue with Nissan for our seventh season together and fourth consecutive one with Nissan," says the 34-year-old. "With the GEN4 car coming in, we're going to see a big step in performance and it's something we're really excited for."

Maloney now steps in for his third season in the championship, bringing crucial experience after collecting top-10 finishes in São Paulo, Monaco, and Tokyo across the 2025/26 campaign. The Barbadian driver earned his shot in the electric series following a brilliant junior career, starring across the 2023 and 2024 Formula 2 seasons with 11 podiums, two wins, and fourth place in the standings in his final year.

"I'm very excited to join Nissan," says the 22-year-old. "When I came into Formula E, the team was winning the championship with Oli, so it's a great chance for me to now join a top manufacturer."

Rowland himself welcomes the addition of his new teammate, noting his strong junior record and two years of Formula E mileage as vital assets for starting Season 13 on the front foot. For Maloney, sharing a garage with a World Champion he grew up watching offers an invaluable chance to learn as the grid hurtles toward the GEN4 era.
