Here's the thing: stability is everything in motorsport. Mahindra Racing have confirmed that Edoardo Mortara and Nyck de Vries will continue to drive for the squad into the upcoming 2026/27 FIA Formula E World Championship season.
Since joining the Indian automotive manufacturer in 2023, the pair have fueled a serious upwards trajectory for the garage. Last season alone, the duo grabbed two victories, seven podiums, and five pole positions on their way to 252 points, equalling the outfit's best-ever finish in the standings with third in the Teams' World Championship.
The numbers are simply brilliant. Nyck de Vries picked up wins in Monaco and Tokyo last season, alongside a victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier this year, adding to his credentials as the driver crowned World Champion at the end of the GEN2 era.
“The past three years with Mahindra Racing have been a very rewarding journey,” the 31-year-old and 2020/21 World Champion stated. “We’ve made a lot of progress together, and finishing third in the Teams’ Championship last season was a great reward for all the hard work everyone across the team has put in. I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved together and the direction we’ve been moving in.”
“I’m very happy to continue with Mahindra Racing as we enter the GEN4 era. It represents a completely new challenge for everyone in Formula E, with a lot to learn and discover. I’m excited to take that on with the team and see where this next chapter takes us,” de Vries added.
Beside him, Edoardo Mortara reaches a massive milestone. Making his debut at the 2017 Hong Kong E-Prix, the six-time E-Prix winner's continuation with the team means this will be his 10th season in the all-electric championship.
“I’m really happy to continue with the team,” Mortara commented. “Our collaboration over the past three seasons has been very positive, with results steadily improving along the way. Together, we’ve lifted our performance at every level, and I’m proud of what we’ve built. Entering my tenth Formula E season, we know the year ahead will be a real challenge, especially on the technical side, with so much that is new. I’m curious and excited to take on that challenge with the team as we move to the new GEN4 cars.”
With de Vries' championship pedigree and Mortara's decade of experience, Mahindra brings one of the most formidable pairings to the grid as teams lock in their lineups ahead of pre-season testing in Madrid.
