Here's something genuinely wild for motorsport fans: the world's first Formula E karting experience is officially open. Just three weeks after the opening of Saudi Entertainment Ventures' landmark entertainment destination in Abha, Formula E Karting has launched at SEVEN Abha in the heart of the Aseer Region, marking a massive step for grassroots racing and family entertainment in the Kingdom.
Developed under an official license, this indoor track stretches 428 meters and brings the championship's sustainable racing DNA to life through a fleet of adult, junior, and dual electric karts. Drivers navigate through technology-driven racing zones equipped with multi-sensory lighting. Off the track, visitors can check out interactive heritage displays that trace the history of Formula E's drivers, teams, and technical innovations, alongside environmental messages tied to the sport's EV performance roots.
This world-first attraction aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, spreading premium sport and leisure beyond major metropolitan hubs and into the Aseer Region. Abha is only the first of four SEVEN destinations to get this treatment, with additional attractions already in development in Riyadh (Al Hamra), Dammam, and Al Kharj.
Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E, said: "We are pleased to partner with SEVEN to create Formula E’s first-ever karting experience. As a unique touchpoint for our sport, we hope the immersive nature of the attraction can serve as an opportunity to introduce and educate new audiences about Formula E, helping support the strong growth in fandom we have witnessed in the region in recent years."
Essam Aljubair, COO of SEVEN, added: “Opening the world’s first Formula E Karting experience at SEVEN Abha marks an important milestone in our commitment to bringing distinctive, accessible entertainment experiences to communities across Saudi Arabia. Through this partnership, families and motorsport enthusiasts can enjoy an interactive experience that combines excitement and technology while expanding entertainment choices and supporting quality of life in the Aseer Region, We also hope these tracks can help discover and develop Saudi talent, and that one day we will see a Saudi driver competing in Formula E.”
This launch comes right as the Kingdom prepares for a historic motorsport moment. In just over three months, the 2026/27 Season opener of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will arrive on December 18 and 19, 2026. For the very first time, the global season will kick off at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit for Rounds 1 and 2, bringing night racing to the Red Sea coastline.
That December weekend will mark the racing debut of Formula E’s revolutionary GEN4 car, a machine built from 100% recyclable or reusable materials that accelerates from 0-100kph in 1.8 seconds. Jeddah will also host the debut of the new 'E-PrixUnleashed' format, a 30-minute unrestricted performance-focused race showcasing the raw 600kW (815hp) power of the GEN4. By visiting the track in Abha, local fans are getting a direct taste of the exact sustainable racing philosophy that elite manufacturers like Jaguar, Porsche, Stellantis, Nissan, Mahindra, and Lola Cars will unleash on the streets of Jeddah.
