That is how you lay down a marker before it really counts. Ignacio Faín topped the second and final Turismo Carretera practice session in San Nicolás, steering his Trotta Racing Torino to a blistering lap time of 1:28.577/1000 under clearing skies.
Mauricio Lambiris slotted straight into second place right on his debut with the Laboritto Jrs squad, piloting his Ford Mustang to a gap of just 64 milésimas behind the pacesetter. Rounding out the top three, Otto Fritzler put his Maquin Parts Mercedes Benz within a tenth of the leading pace.
Behind the top three, Josito Di Palma settled into fourth place after leading the opening practice session. Jonatan Castellano, who comes in as the winner of the Regular Stage, took fifth.
Mariano Werner, holding the title of the winningest driver at San Nicolás, parked his machine in sixth. The rest of the top ten filled out with Santiago Mangoni in seventh, Matías Rossi in eighth, Nicolás Bonelli in ninth, and Nicolás Trosset rounding out the top ten.
Now, attention turns to the stopwatch. Classification is scheduled to begin at 16:00 hours, with live coverage broadcast through El Nueve and Motor Play.
