Here is the thing about racing: when the path you are on stops working, you simply have to change direction. That is exactly what Mauricio Lambiris has done, deciding to leave his previous structure right after the completion of the competition in San Luís to launch a fresh project alongside Jeronimo Teti.
The Uruguayan driver wasted no time making the move real. He transported his Ford Mustang directly to the workshop located in Lobería, handing the machine over to his new mechanics so they could get straight to work on the beast.
It was not the year that you had planned and hopefully this project consolidates. We have to get to know each other and the idea is to be firm for next year.
Speaking during an ACTC Media broadcast on YouTube, Lambiris opened up about the switch and the timing behind it. “We are happy with the team change," he commented. "Today we went out to train in the rain and the car worked well. Starting from San Nicolás we decided to walk a new path because we felt we had to do it."
It is no secret that things have not gone according to script so far. Looking back at the campaign up to this point, Lambiris offered a candid assessment: “It was not the year that you had planned and hopefully this project consolidates. We have to get to know each other and the idea is to be firm for next year."
Now, the immediate focus shifts to bedding in with the new personnel and building a foundation. With the Mustang already resting in the Lobería shop and wet-weather testing under their belts, the real work of this partnership begins now.
