British rider Jake Dixon put together a stunning weekend aboard his Honda HRC machine at the Cremona Circuit for Round 10, delivering his and Honda’s best results of the 2026 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship season so far. Having missed nearly the entire first half of the year due to injury, the rider is finally settling in atop his CBR 1000RR-R SP, improving day by day and matching his previous WorldSBK-best result with a P9 on Saturday before smashing past it on Sunday with a brilliant sixth-place finish.
That opening day required plenty of grit after a difficult Tissot Superpole session left him down in P18 on the grid. A phenomenal start vaulted him forward seven positions by Lap 2, setting the stage for a hard-fought charge. Dixon wrestled past Stefano Manzi (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) on Lap 8 at Turn 8, snapped up Remy Gardner on the back straight heading into Turn 11 on the following lap, and inherited a spot when Alberto Surra crashed ahead of him. Crossing the line in P9, he admitted his tyres were completely scorched after pushing to stay with the front group, noting that it felt like a victory.
Sunday brought even more chaos and reward. In the Tissot Superpole Race, starting from P17 after Gardner was ruled unfit, Dixon avoided early carnage triggered by Lorenzo Baldassarri (Team GoEleven) and Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki WorldSBK Team) colliding on the opening lap. He picked off his teammate Somkiat Chantra, benefited from a crash by Alvaro Bautista (Barni Spark Racing Team), and drove past Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team), Xavi Vierge, and Andrea Locatelli to secure P9 and his first ever point in a Superpole Race.
He carried that momentum directly into Race 2 from a much-improved P9 starting slot. Though he lost a place off the line, he quickly capitalized when Miguel Oliveira (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) crashed out at Turn 10 on Lap 2. Clean moves on the inside of Gerloff and Tommy Bridewell (Superbikes Advocates) at Turns 4 and 5 kept his forward momentum rolling, and a blistering lap of 1’29.111s on Lap 9 set his pace. A subsequent spill by Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) on Lap 11 elevated Dixon to P6, where he ultimately brought the beast home.
Reflecting on the weekend, Dixon praised the tireless effort happening behind the scenes at Honda, pointing to the hard work put in by the test team with Jonny in the UK and at the headquarters in Japan. Now fully fit and finally seeing that backend effort pay off on the asphalt, the British rider has given everyone in his corner plenty of reasons to smile as the championship heads toward its final two rounds.
