As RaceFans reports, Lewis Hamilton is keeping the pressure squarely on his garage-mate following a chaotic start at the Mexican Grand Prix. Both red machines slid off the circuit while scrapping for the lead on the opening lap, opening the door for Max Verstappen to cruise through and take victory. Team principal Frederic Vasseur frankly admitted they had no business losing a race where they controlled the opening turn.
Hamilton didn't hold back in his assessment, pointing the finger at Charles Leclerc for racing him too aggressively off the line. “We should have easily had a one-two last race,” Hamilton stated, “and we’ve got to work to make sure that that never happens again.”
Curiously, the team hasn't actually sat down to clear the air yet. Vasseur headed straight back to Maranello between rounds, while Leclerc travelled home to witness the birth of his first child. But a debrief is definitely coming, according to the British driver. “We will have a sit-down,” Hamilton explained, noting that a single meeting won't fix everything overnight, though building that foundation now is vital for their future.

Despite the frustration, Hamilton finds a silver lining in the adversity, arguing that enduring such moments ultimately builds a more resilient outfit. The bigger picture is entirely about next year and mounting a proper championship charge. Praising the sheer hard work happening behind the scenes, Hamilton noted that while they have occasionally been on the back foot on power, the base chassis has been phenomenal all year alongside rock-solid reliability.
Looking ahead, the goal is crystal clear: turn the recent gains in execution into a title-fighting machine for next season. Hamilton emphasized that while everyone wants to race hard, it has to stay fair so the team reaps the maximum reward. Frederic Vasseur's main task now is keeping everyone pulling in the exact same direction.
