Here is the thing, we are now less than two months away from the start of the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series season, which kicks off with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on Sunday, March 1 on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. Before the machines fire up for the new year, IndyCar.com has given us a wonderful countdown of the top 10 stories from the 2025 campaign, running from December 22 to 31.
Let us start at the bottom of the countdown with number 10, which saw IndyCar race back to gaming consoles. Moving right along to number nine, drivers set fresh records while also extending others. Number eight brought us news about the 2026 schedule, highlighting Arlington, Phoenix, and Markham as key stops.
Then came the racing heroics at number seven, where Christian Rasmussen pulled off a stunning Milwaukee victory to secure his very first win. Number six dealt with the business side of the sport, as many teams shuffled their upper management decks. Meanwhile, number five saw Doug Boles add the IndyCar Presidency to his top job at IMS.
As we climbed toward the very top, number four reminded us of how drama shifts into overdrive during the Month of May. Number three highlighted a Will Power shift that led to changes at Penske and Andretti. Finally, the top two spots belonged to a massive broadcast leap and a legendary champion.
Number two celebrated FOX elevating IndyCar ratings and production in a banner first season. And taking the crown at number one, none other than Alex Palou secured legendary status with a spectacular season. What a wild year it truly was.
