MotoGP teams up with Accenture to rebuild streaming platform
Here's the thing about modern racing: getting the machine on screen is only half the battle. MotoGP Group has chosen Accenture to build the next generation of its direct-to-fan OTT streaming platform, aiming for a launch ahead of the 2027 MotoGP season. That is a massive technological shift, and it is coming straight for how we watch these wild machines.
Under this new collaboration, the platform will bring together MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3, and World Superbike under a single technical architecture. Each series will keep a tailored experience for its audience while running on Accenture Media Engage, which was previously known as Accenture Video Solution. This system is part of the Accenture Media Suite launched at IBC, utilizing AI-powered media tools to handle optimization and operations across regions.
Fans are getting some incredible upgrades on race weekends. The service will deliver a multi-camera viewing experience with customizable race coverage alongside live sports data woven directly into the livestream. Future updates are set to introduce even more immersive features to drag audiences closer to the asphalt.
The companies will also co-innovate alongside partners like AWS. The goal here is exploring fresh ways for fans to consume content, deepen engagement, and optimize connectivity right at the circuits.
"MotoGP has always been defined by innovation, pushing the limits of what's possible both on and off the track," said Gorka Llort Igal, Digital Business Director of MotoGP Group. "As we continue to grow our global audience, we're focused on creating a direct-to-fan experience that matches the excitement, emotion and intensity of the world's most exciting sport. Through our collaboration with Accenture, we're building a platform that will bring fans closer to the action than ever before, with more personalization, deeper insights, greater interactivity and richer content."
Accenture shares the vision for the future of the sport. "MotoGP has a clear vision for how it wants to evolve its direct-to-fan experience and create new sources of value around the sport," said John Peters, Global Media & Entertainment Lead at Accenture. "As sports organizations build deeper, more direct relationships with fans, the opportunity lies in bringing together audience engagement, content and monetization on a connected platform that can continually evolve with changing fan expectations."
By combining MotoGP's knowledge of the sport with Accenture's streaming capabilities and scale, the foundation is set. Now, we just wait to see how it looks when the lights go out in 2027.
