Now, that is how you turn a weekend around.
Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak managed to salvage points on Sunday in Madrid after enduring a properly difficult start to the round. The ART Grand Prix driver suffered a sizeable crash during the opening Practice session, an incident that left him sidelined for Qualifying and forced to start the race from the back of the grid.
I have to say a massive thanks to the team for making it possible for me to get back into the weekend after the crash on Friday... So I owe it to them for the points I scored this weekend.
Without any track time on Friday at a venue that was new to everyone, the Thai driver faced an uphill battle just to learn the circuit and gather mileage during Saturday's Sprint Race. But race day brought a golden opportunity. Using the Safety Car timing to his advantage, and benefiting from a saved extra set of Softs because he missed Qualifying, the gamble on strategy paid off.
"After Friday, I never expected to be in this position," Inthraphuvasak admitted. "But I knew that on Sunday, anything could happen - it's Formula 2."
The resulting drive carried him all the way up to sixth position. It also extended his Feature Race scoring streak, which stretches back to Round 6.
Reflecting on the hard work required to repair his machine after what he described as a really big crash, Inthraphuvasak was clear about who deserved the credit for Sunday's result. "I have to say a massive thanks to the team for making it possible for me to get back into the weekend after the crash on Friday... So I owe it to them for the points I scored this weekend."
Up next is Baku for Round 12, another brand new street circuit for Inthraphuvasak and many others on the 2026 grid. Armed with his recent experience in overcoming adversity, the ART driver is heading into the next challenge with confidence and a hunger to get back behind the wheel.
