Here is the thing about intermediate tracks: they punish mistakes and they reward pure execution. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is stepping up to host both the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series this weekend as their respective Chases presented by Mobil 1 roll on. The 1.5-mile venue stands ready for Race 5 of the Cup Series Chase, marking the second of three consecutive races on intermediate tracks. Meanwhile, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series returns to action to tackle the fourth of nine Chase races.
For the premier Cup division, race day arrives on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. ET, with live coverage broadcast on USA Network and HBO Max. Teams face a strict tire allocation featuring eleven total sets in total. That breakdown gives drivers eight new sets designated for the race itself, two sets for practice, and a single set for qualifying that ultimately transfers over to the race.
Down in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, the schedule sets the action for Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET, with fans able to catch the broadcast on The CW and ESPN Unlimited. Their weekend tire allotment is scaled to six total sets. This includes four new sets for the race, one set for practice, and one set for qualifying that also transfers right into the race.
As the weekend unfolds, the circuit's data streams will fill out with all the essential documents. Everything from entry lists, qualifying orders, practice results, lap averages, and lap times to starting lineups, pit stalls, and stage results will drop into place as teams hit the asphalt.
