That is right, the championship crown belongs to Frankie Muniz and co-driver Tyler Stone. As Motorsport.com reports, the pair officially secured the 2026 GT4 America Am championship title at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course following a hard-fought double-header weekend.
To chase this crown, Muniz skipped multiple NASCAR races where he competes full-time as a Truck Series driver for Reaume. It was a massive gamble that paid off in style. Entering the finale with just a single point over their closest competition, Muniz and Stone had to dig deep. They started tenth in their class for the final race, forcing a tremendous climb through the field.
First of all, I want to say thank you to the Lord and Savior for there was a lot of prayer between Frankie and I throughout the season, and I truly believe that's why we are here today,
The No. 30 TechSport Racing machine finished out 2026 with an impressive tally of three race wins and seven podium finishes, including a weekend sweep at Road America and another victory in Race #2 at Barber Motorsports Park. In the closing minutes of the title-deciding race, it was Muniz himself who wrestled the car into the podium positions, making the crucial pass on their championship rivals.
"I mean, going into this, I've never raced sports cars," Muniz said. "My first time ever in a GT4 car was for the first practice session at Sonoma. You know, I thank Ford Racing for pushing me in this direction. It was so incredible."
Stone watched the tense final moments unfold from the pits while Muniz brought the car home. "First of all, I want to say thank you to the Lord and Savior for there was a lot of prayer between Frankie and I throughout the season, and I truly believe that's why we are here today," Stone said.
Ultimately, they claimed the Am class title by a margin of 19 points over James Walker Jr. and James Clay. The journey wasn't immediate either, with Muniz having spent nearly two decades working toward a major racing title through stints in the Atlantic championship, Formula BMW, Mazda MX-5 Cup, ARCA Menard's Series, and the top NASCAR divisions. But at Indianapolis, all those years of persistence finally turned into gold.
