MotoGP has finally laid out its massive 22-race calendar for 2027, marking the historic first year of the championship's new 850cc era. While the broad strokes hold no major surprises, as The Race reports, the schedule brings some fascinating shuffles, a brand new date in Argentina, and a seismic venue change for the Australian Grand Prix.
Everything kicks off in Thailand on March 7, landing a week later than the 2026 opener. From there, the circus is pencilled in to head straight to Qatar seven days later, though paddock sources suggest that Middle Eastern stop could potentially swap places with October's Indonesian round depending on how the geopolitical situation in the region develops.
The early-season tour crosses the Atlantic to Brazil on April 4 for the first leg of a double-header. That sequence brings MotoGP right back to Argentina for an inaugural race at Buenos Aires' Autodromo Oscar y Juan Galvez, before wrapping up the American swing two weeks later at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas.
Europe gets its traditional May opener at Jerez on May 9, followed closely by the French Grand Prix at Le Mans. The heavy summer stretch then takes over with visits to Mugello, Barcelona, Assen, Sachsenring, and Brno right before the summer break hits.
Action fires back up at Silverstone in August a week later than usual, paving the way for Austria's return to an August slot. Misano, Aragon, and a rescheduled Portuguese Grand Prix at Portimao round out the European phase before the autumn flyaways.
Japan opens the long overseas stretch on October 17, paving the way for Malaysia, Indonesia, and the brand new Adelaide parklands race in mid-November. Finally, the championship packs its bags back to Europe for the traditional season finale at Valencia on November 28.
