Here is the news: Remy Gardner has officially been cleared by the medical centre at the Circuito Estoril to return to action. The Australian rider, competing for the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team, is back in the paddock just ahead of the penultimate round of the WorldSBK season.
Fans will remember the dramatic turn of events at Cremona, where the #87 suffered a broken fifth metacarpal in his left hand during an FP2 crash on Friday. Despite soldiering through the pain to contest Race 1, the physical toll ultimately caught up with him on the final day of that weekend, leading to him being ruled unfit early on Sunday.
Now, thankfully, the situation has turned around. Gardner is scheduled to take to the track this Friday for the opening Free Practice 1 session at Estoril.
That said, the medical clearance comes with a minor caveat: his physical condition will be closely monitored and officially reviewed again immediately following the conclusion of FP1. It is a crucial test for the machine and the rider as the season nears its end.
