Here is a wild piece of scheduling to wrap your head around: the provisional 2027 WorldSBK calendar has dropped, and it brings a brand new adventure alongside some very welcome comebacks. We are looking at a twelve-round marathon stretching across nine countries and three continents, kicking off in February and wrapping up in October.
Now, let us talk about how this whole machine starts. The season fires up at Phillip Island on 19-21 February, with both WorldSBK and WorldSSP opening their campaigns at the iconic Australian circuit. Teams will get down to business early with an official test at the track on 15-16 February. Keep this detail in mind, because 2027 will mark WorldSBK's final appearance at Phillip Island before the Australian Round relocates to The Bend in 2028.
After Australia, Europe gets its turn. Portimao takes the baton on 19-21 March, acting as the European curtain-raiser while also launching the WorldSPB and WorldWCR seasons following their own official test at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve on 15 March.
Then comes a massive piece of nostalgia: the Circuit Ricardo Tormo returns to the calendar on 2-4 April for the third round. That is right, Valencia is back on the WorldSBK schedule for the first time since 2010. Its stadium-style layout will host WorldSBK, WorldSSP, WorldSPB, and WorldWCR all at once. Spain will hold two rounds in total with MotorLand Aragon remaining on the bill, though Jerez misses out for next season due to ongoing renovation works.
Spring and summer bring a flurry of classic European stops. Assen follows in April, Aragon takes May, and June brings visits to Most and Misano. Before the summer break, Donington Park takes center stage on 9-11 July, welcoming the WorldSPB class to the Leicestershire track for the very first time. Racing resumes in September with Magny-Cours and Cremona, before Estoril wraps up the European portion on 15-17 October.
Finally, the grand finale: China is stepping up to host the season-ending showdown. The Shanghai International Circuit will stage the final WorldSBK and WorldSSP races of the year on 29-31 October. WorldSSP is locked in to join WorldSBK at all twelve rounds across the year, while the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship gets a six-round calendar running from Portimao to Cremona.
