Here's the thing about racing history: it sometimes comes back around. David Tremayne has made his feelings clear on the matter, expressing his delight that the Portuguese Grand Prix is returning to the calendar in 2027.
Looking back at the old days when the event was run at Estoril, Tremayne remembers a pretty cool track carrying a great ambiance about the place. Estoril had character, even if it brought some unexpected wildlife encounters into the mix.
Because you never quite know what you will find at a racing circuit. Tremayne once spotted a snake not far from the press room during a weekend there.
Now, the creature was perhaps under the impression it belonged to the exact group that his pal Perry McCarthy likes to call 'reptiles'. Thankfully, the snake was clearly far more frightened of the media personnel than they were of it, and eventually slithered off somewhere.
