As Motorsport.com reports, Spire Motorsports is rolling out a striking tribute at Charlotte Motor Speedway, bringing two special paint schemes to the upcoming NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race to honor the legacy of Kyle Busch Motorsports. The connection between the two organizations runs deep, given that Spire purchased the assets from KB and moved directly into the race shop following the 2023 season, retaining numerous former KBM employees who still build and manage the successful NASCAR Truck Series operation today.
That history matters profoundly when you look at the machines rolling out for this weekend. Connor Mosack will pilot the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado, sponsored by PurePex, carrying a black-and-red paint scheme. It is an exact replica of the livery Busch drove when he secured Kbm's 100th and final victory, piloting a truck sponsored by Zariz Transport to win in the No. 51 at Pocono in 2023.
Meanwhile, Rajah Caruth steps into the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado, backed by Firstline and Chevrolet. That machine features a bright yellow and black paint scheme that serves as a direct callback to the Dollar General livery Kyle Busch drove to KBM's very first victory at Nashville in 2010.
Over the lifespan of Kyle Busch Motorsports between 2010 and 2023, the operation racked up an incredible 100 NASCAR Truck Series victories, with Busch himself responsible for 48 of those wins. The team that carries his former shop's spirit now prepares to race under the lights, remembering where that incredible legacy started and where it ultimately reached its century mark.
