For the first 14 races of the season, Max Verstappen found the Red Bull RB22 a very difficult car. That is a brutal reality for any driver fighting at the absolute limit, but the tide finally turned with a major upgrade introduced in Baku for Round 15.
That single development package completely transformed the machinery, allowing Verstappen to lock down victory in the next two successive races, taking triumphs at Sepang and Singapore.
Speaking after securing his first-ever Singapore victory last Sunday, Verstappen laid bare the scale of the turnaround.
“The last few races have been really positive for us,” Verstappen said.
“Our car has taken a really nice step forward. It's just been more driveable and more predictable. That's what I wanted and needed from the car to find that last step to fight up front. And I hope that we can carry that momentum forward… Next Up”
