As Motorsport.com reports, the driver market for the World Endurance Championship has just taken a fascinating twist with Cadillac Hertz Team Jota bringing in Ricky Taylor and Antonio Felix da Costa for the 2027 season. This refreshed roster means saying goodbye to Sebastien Bourdais and Alex Lynn, both of whom wrap up their time with the American manufacturer at the end of next month's Monza season finale.
The rest of the squad remains stable, with Jack Aitken, Earl Bamber, Norman Nato, and Will Stevens all retained for next year, though exact car pairings for the two Cadillac V-Series.R LMDh machines are still under wraps. Jota team principal Sam Hignett made no secret of his enthusiasm, pointing out that both incoming drivers already know the outfit well.
I have some amazing memories with this team, we achieved a lot together and I still have so many friends here, so in many ways it feels like coming home.
For Taylor, the move feels like a natural progression. The 37-year-old has been wrestling Cadillac's LMDh prototype in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for his father’s WTR team since the beginning of 2025, and he even got a taste of the WEC setup when he subbed for the injured Lynn at Lone Star Le Mans in September. He is expected to juggle his new Hypercar duties with another IMSA campaign, following the lead of teammates Aitken and Bamber.
"Racing full-time in a FIA World Championship is something I’ve never had the opportunity to do before," said the two-time Daytona 24 Hours winner. "I’m excited for the prospect and to be joining a team that has spent so many years achieving podiums and wins on the world stage."
Meanwhile, Antonio Felix da Costa is making a welcome return. After a forced hiatus from Hypercar in 2024 and 2025 followed by a one-year stint with Alpine in 2026—prompted by Renault Group pulling the plug on its programme—he is back with familiar faces. Da Costa previously claimed the LMP2 title with Jota back in 2022 before their step up to Hypercar, and he will balance this seat alongside his Formula E commitments with Jaguar next year.
"It feels really special to be coming back to JOTA," da Costa said. "I have some amazing memories with this team, we achieved a lot together and I still have so many friends here, so in many ways it feels like coming home."
These arrivals spell the departure of Bourdais and Lynn. Lynn—currently returning from a long injury layoff at the Barcelona 6 Hours—has already been secured by McLaren's new Hypercar team, with team principal James Barclay praising his speed and technical understanding. Bourdais, however, faces an uncertain future after failing to strike a new deal with Cadillac. The 47-year-old remains on the hunt for that elusive maiden outright victory at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
