Here's the thing about this point in the season: after a week off, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is roaring back to life. On Friday, the field descends on Charlotte Motor Speedway for the third race in The Chase presented by Mobil 1, marking the 21st points-paying event of the 2026 campaign.
Front Row Motorsports driver Layne Riggs is looking for a serious bounce-back. His last outing at Kansas Speedway ended in a disappointing 19th-place finish, and now he has ground to make up. He enters Charlotte hunting down championship leader Kaden Honeycutt, who holds a 37-point advantage over the No. 34 Ford machine.
There is plenty of intriguing movement up and down the pit lane for this Queen City contest. O’Reilly Auto Parts Series regular Brent Crews is climbing behind the wheel of the No. 1 Tricon Garage Toyota to mix things up. Meanwhile, Bayley Currey is back in action with the same stable, stepping back into the No. 5 Tricon Toyota following a stellar runner-up finish a couple of races ago at Bristol.
The garage gets even more interesting with full-time O’Reilly Series driver Rajah Caruth set to pilot the No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet. Not far away, Regan Smith is locking in his second appearance with Kaulig Racing, returning to the No. 25 Ram after previously driving for the squad at Bristol.
When the dust settles on Friday, thirty-six trucks will take part in the action. Coverage kicks off at 5 p.m. ET on FOX, FOX One, NASCAR Racing Network Radio, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio as these teams chase crucial points on the speedway.
