As Motorsport.com reports, Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the nearby 0.375-mile Bullring have transformed into a place of remembrance this weekend, paying tribute to hometown hero and two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch. The racing world is still grappling with the sudden passing of Busch at just 41 years old in May of this year, occurring only a few days after he secured his 234th and final NASCAR win in a Truck race at Dover.
When the devastating news first broke, fans in Nevada rushed to the speedway to build a makeshift memorial. Now, as NASCAR returns to Vegas for the first time without him, the venue has ensured his immense legacy—which includes seven wins across all three national NASCAR divisions at LVMS and countless victories at the Bullring—is honored at every turn.
A permanent memorial rock featuring his signature bow was unveiled just outside the Bullring. Family members including his wife Samantha, children Brexton and Lennix, brother Kurt, and parents Tom and Gaye were present for the dedication, alongside actor Michael Rooker, whose 'Days of Thunder' character 'Rowdy' Burns inspired Busch's iconic nickname. The weekend also featured the 'Kyle Busch Classic' at the Bullring, where son Brexton waved the green flag for the ARCA Menards West Series race and later competed in a Legends Car race, while 'Forever Rowdy' was painted on the walls.
The tributes extend far beyond the track layout itself. Street intersections leading into the Bullring have been renamed 'Rowdy Road' and 'Busch Brothers Drive' to honor both Kyle and his fellow Cup champion brother Kurt Busch. Kurt will drive the pace car ahead of Sunday's race, which features a special sticker remembering Kyle. Both brothers captured Cup wins at LVMS, with Kyle winning in 2009 and Kurt taking victory during the 2020 season.

Fans walking the grounds will find a black No. 8 stenciled into the infield grass, 'Forever Rowdy' signage high above the track, a tribute wall by the pedestrian tunnel entrance for messages, and both an M&M's Kyle Busch car and his 2019 championship trophy on display. A silent Lap 8 tribute is also set for the Cup race.
Beyond the official speedway plans, Hendrick Motorsports and Kyle Larson are running a special livery recreating the No. 5 Kellogg's car Busch drove at the start of his Cup career with the team, complete with 'Tiny Kyle' above the door in honor of his long-time friend and rival.
