It is a proper home game for the NASCAR industry this weekend as all three premier series descend upon Charlotte Motor Speedway. The action gets underway Friday night with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, rolls on with the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series on Saturday afternoon, and culminates with the marquee NASCAR Cup Series event on Sunday.
This massive weekend in the Queen City marks the very first time since 2017 that the fall festivities take place on the traditional 1.5-mile oval instead of the track’s Roval configuration. More importantly, it kicks off the first of five straight tripleheaders designed to bring the 2026 season to a head as The Chase presented by Mobil 1 reaches serious crunch time.
For the premier Cup division, teams will have eleven total sets of Goodyear tires at their disposal, broken down into eight new sets for the race itself, two sets designated for practice, and a single set for qualifying that carries over into the race. Sunday's battle goes green at 3 p.m. ET with live television coverage provided by USA Network.
Meanwhile, the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series contingent arrives with a total of six tire sets for the weekend, featuring four new sets for the race, one for practice, and one for qualifying that transfers over. Saturday's race is scheduled for a 4 p.m. ET start, broadcast live on The CW.
Opening the weekend's racing agenda, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series field will manage five total sets of tires, consisting of three new sets for the race alongside single sets for practice and qualifying. The truck competitors hit the track Friday at 5 p.m. ET with television coverage on FOX.
