Now, that is how you close out a championship. A torrential downpour brought the season to a dramatic close at the Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto in Andalucia, but nothing could slow down Nicolo Bulega. The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati rider capped off his record-shattering 2026 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship campaign with a stunning trio of wins, cementing an absolute masterclass of a season with a mammoth 726 points.
Behind the unstoppable champion, the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati squad enjoyed an even sweeter day as Iker Lecuona secured second in the standings with 563 points. Yari Montella rounded out the top three for the Barni Spark Racing Team with 318 points, completing the premier tier of the final championship order.
Further down the order, the battles went down to the wire in brutal conditions. Sam Lowes of the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team closed out his year by pipping his brother Alex Lowes—riding for the bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team—by a mere nine points to claim fourth in the championship with 268 to 259. Alex had to settle for fifth, while Lorenzo Baldassarri took sixth for Team GoEleven on 236 points.
The points scoring continued with Axel Bassani bringing his bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team machine home in seventh with 222 points, followed by Alberto Surra of Motocorsa Racing in eighth with 198 points. Down in the battle for ninth, Alvaro Bautista of the Barni Spark Racing Team managed to overtake American rider Garrett Gerloff of the Kawasaki WorldSBK Team by a razor-thin margin of two points, finishing on 167 to Gerloff's 137.
