Now, this is how you wrap up a year on track. Day 2 of post-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya marks the final day of on-track action in 2026, and the pit lane opened promptly at 09:00 local time to get things moving.
Before the times really started tumbling, Kato laid down an early marker at the top of the order for ART. But that benchmark did not stand for long. Alessandro Giusti soon stepped in, lowering the target to a 1:29.511 for Rodin Motorsport, before dragging the benchmark down even further to a 1:28.450.
Just as the field was really finding its rhythm and the times were dropping, the red flags waved. Dion Gowda went off the road at Turn 8, bringing a temporary halt to the session.
Thankfully, the stoppage was short-lived. The pit lane opened once again, the green light shone, and running resumed out on track.
That opened the door for the final charge. Kato managed to climb back to the top of the timesheets briefly, but Rivera had other ideas. Rivera put together a stunning run to pip the Japanese driver, clocking a 1:28.186 to set the absolute fastest time of the test so far.
