Preparations for the 2027 campaign are officially underway for Pedro Clerot, who spent earlier this week at the Jerez post-season test with Rodin Motorsport.
When asked to build his ultimate racing driver using motorsport legends, Clerot started with intelligence. He selected Ayrton Senna, explaining that the Brazilian great was always ahead of his time both on and off the track. Senna also got the nod for wet-weather driving, with Clerot pointing out that his performances in the rain were always spectacular.
For qualifying, Clerot turned to Max Verstappen, praising his aggressive mentality and approach. According to Clerot, Verstappen is always there in qualifying and consistently extracts more than what the car has to offer. Verstappen also took the crown for the biggest risktaker, described simply as all or nothing always, as well as taking the spot for an aggressive driving style.
Tyre management went to Lewis Hamilton. Clerot highlighted Hamilton's career-long ability to go longer than expected on rubber, referencing the famous radio messages.
When it came to the smoothest driving style, Clerot admitted it was a tricky question before eventually choosing Lando Norris for driving really clean all time, while also acknowledging Oscar as someone who does the same.
Finally, Clerot added Nelson Piquet's technical knowledge to the mix. Noting that they live quite close in Brasilia, Clerot shared that he has been lucky enough to have chats with Piquet while go-karting and occasionally over dinner, describing the legend's technical knowledge as unreal.
