Here's the thing: Trident have officially locked in their complete lineup for the upcoming campaign, securing Niccolò Maccagnani for the 2027 season alongside previously announced teammates Kean Nakamura-Berta and Sebastian Wheldon.
Maccagnani made his initial leap into single-seaters in 2025, wrapping up that year with a very respectable second-place finish in the Formula Trophy. He followed that up in 2026 by taking fourth place in the UAE4 Series, a campaign highlighted by two victories and five podium appearances in total.
Niccolò is a young driver who has already demonstrated his speed and potential, excelling in the junior formulae,
That is not all, because the young charger also collected two victories in this year's Italian F4 Championship and even got a taste of the higher levels by taking part in the final round of the Formula 3 season in Madrid. Now, the 16-year-old is making the full-time jump to F3 with Trident.
Team Manager Giacomo Ricci is delighted to have him onboard for 2027. “We are delighted to announce the arrival of Niccolò Maccagnani at TRIDENT Motorsport,” said Ricci.
“Niccolò is a young driver who has already demonstrated his speed and potential, excelling in the junior formulae,” Ricci continued. “The FIA Formula 3 Championship will represent a significant challenge, with cars and a competitiveness level that are higher than anything he has faced so far. We are ready to provide Niccolò with full support in this new phase of his career, working together to foster his growth and allow him to fully express his talents and perform a competitive season.”
