That said, racing isn't just about what happens on Sunday. This Friday, the classrooms of the Escuela de Educación Técnica Profesional N°466 “Gral. Manuel Savio” at Av. Rouillón 1175 played host to a very different kind of session, as the ACTC Educación program brought its road safety workshop to Rosario.
Now, this wasn't just a casual visit. The workshop featured Turismo Carretera driver Facundo Ardusso alongside high-ranking figures from the Asociación Corredores Turismo Carretera (ACTC), including General Secretary Facundo Gil Bicella and Protreasurer Luis Miraldi. They were joined by Gerardo Maschio, Director of EETP N°466, Ernesto Cespeda, General Secretary of the Asociación del Ministerio de Rosario, and Diego Herrera, Secretary of Control and Convivencia for the Municipality of Rosario.
Things kicked off with Diego Garay, a teacher specializing in accidentology. He walked the students through the hard statistics of how traffic accidents impact everyday life in Argentina, while also breaking down prevention and emergency response. Then came the track-to-street crossover: former driver and current sport commissar Claudio Alonso stepped up to compare regular traffic laws with the strict sporting regulations that govern Turismo Carretera.
Here's the thing: that is where Ardusso really brought the machinery to life. The Turismo Carretera driver showed off his official racing gear, explaining how a TC car absorbs impacts and how drivers work to prevent accidents on the circuit.
After the theory came the practice. The students broke into groups to tackle cognitive training games, inspect safety systems for bicycles and motorcycles, and jump into simulators designed to test their adherence to traffic laws.
Unfortunately, all good things must end, and with this session, ACTC Educación completed the three training workshops it had planned for its maiden visit to Rosario, rounding off a successful trip hosted by a fantastic location.
