Here is the news we have all been waiting for from the Argentine tracks: Jeronimo Teti is finally making his long-awaited return to Turismo Carretera this very weekend. After sitting out six consecutive rounds due to health issues, the driver from Loberia is back where he belongs for the thirteenth round of the championship at the Autodromo municipal de Rosario. We last saw him competing in the category all the way back at the seventh round in Rafaela, and as he candidly admits, stepping away was never his choice.
Before heading to Rosario, Teti put his Ford Mustang through its paces with a test session, shaking down the machine handled entirely by his own squad. Getting back behind the wheel has brought a clear sense of relief and joy. “We put in the kilometers, the guys are working on the car now. Happy because we are turning laps in the car again. Now we are going to do some consecutive laps around the whole circuit and work on the fine details,” Teti explained.
He did not hide the hurdles it took to get back on the grid. This comeback is about testing his physical readiness and satisfying his desire to keep racing in Turismo Carretera, acknowledging that reaching this point was far from easy. Health forced him out of the cockpit, and the road back has required real perseverance.
Looking ahead to the upcoming track action in Rosario, Teti noted the distinct challenge awaiting him and his machine. While he has previous experience here with Turismo Nacional, the sheer beast of a Turismo Carretera car makes it a completely different game on a circuit that promises to be fantastic for these machines.
There is more big news inside the garage, too. The team has expanded and restructured following the arrival of Mauricio Lambiris, who reached out during the race in San Luis. By bringing his own engineering department into the fold, Lambiris has effectively merged operations with Teti's squad. As Teti puts it simply, having two cars on track is a massive boost for the newly reorganized operation.
