Akkodis ASP Team has officially locked in its driver roster for the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship, setting the stage for another assault on the LMGT3 title with a pair of Lexus RC F LMGT3 machines. The French squad, led by Jérôme Policand, has opted for continuity on one side of the garage and a complete refresh on the other.
Over in the #87 entry, the lineup remains entirely unchanged. Clemens Schmid returns alongside Petru Umbrărescu and two-time world champion José María López. The 35-year-old Schmid has spent the last two seasons anchoring the team with his speed and technical feedback, and this trio is looking to build on a breakthrough previous campaign that delivered victories in São Paulo and Sakhir, plus a third-place finish in the final standings.
Meanwhile, the sister #78 car sees an entirely new crew consisting of Tom Van Rompuy, Esteban Masson, and Hadrien David. Van Rompuy arrives from TF Sport to join the fold alongside fellow fresh face David. Only 21 years of age, David earned his promotion after turning heads as the reigning Le Mans Cup LMP3 champion and securing the championship runner-up spoils in the 2025 GT4 European Series' Silver Cup with Matmut Évolution, a squad similarly run by Policand.
The young French charger laid down impressive pace in the LMGT3 category during an evaluation at last month's Bahrain Rookie Test. That performance earned him this FIA WEC seat, where he will make his championship debut in the Lexus at the season-opening contest in Qatar on 28 March.
From there, the 2026 calendar will take the championship to Imola, Spa-Francorchamps, the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, Interlagos, COTA, and Fuji, before concluding with the traditional eight-hour finale in Bahrain.
