Here is the thing about David Almansa (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP): he knows how to leave it right until the absolute edge. He pulled off a stunning 2:04.069, the very fastest lap of the entire weekend, to secure pole position at Brno. And he did it by a microscopic margin of just 0.017s. That is not just fast; that is beautiful execution when the pressure is highest, giving him three consecutive pole positions in Moto3.
Hakim Danish (AEON Credit – MT Helmets – MSI) will line up right alongside him in second place after digging deep for a late improvement at the very end of the session. Together, Almansa and Danish brutally denied Maximo Quiles (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team). The #28 rider had looked like the man to beat, sitting comfortably in P1 until the final run. Unfortunately for him, he brought his machine back into the pits with three minutes remaining, leaving himself stranded and unable to improve while the rest of the field hunted him down.
Looking at the second row for Sunday's Grand Prix, Alvaro Carpe (Red Bull KTM Ajo) leads the charge with a 2:04.634. He finds himself half-a-second down on Almansa’s blistering pole benchmark. Sharing that row is his teammate Brian Uriarte, with the #51 rider slotting into fifth quickest overall.
Further back, Eddie O’Shea (GYRD Racing) engineered a proper fightback to claim sixth on the grid for Sunday. The British rider had already shown pace strong enough to sail directly into Q2, only to suffer a painful disqualification from Practice due to a technical infringement. Undeterred, the #8 dusted himself off, battled through Q1, and fought all the way to sixth in Q2.
Not everyone had a clean run through the lower bracket. Marco Morelli (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team) was forced into Q1 following a crash earlier in Practice. For a moment, it seemed he had the raw pace to survive, but the #97 watched helplessly from his box while sitting second on the timesheets. As he stood stranded in the garage, a flurry of late improvements demoted him right out of the top four places in Q1.
