History has a new name, and as Motorsport.com reports, the newest Formula 1 world champion is already planning how to celebrate his crown. Andrea Kimi Antonelli secured the 2026 Formula 1 world championship at the Mexican Grand Prix last weekend, etching his name into the history books as the youngest champion in F1 history.
Now, the 20-year-old Mercedes driver is looking to reward himself for the monumental achievement. While his parents keep a close eye on his finances to teach him the value of money, the Italian driver admitted that cars are his one major exception. As Antonelli told La Gazzetta dello Sport, his parents want to know where his money goes, but he noted that it is a fairly easy job because he does not have expensive hobbies.
Most of his funds go toward everyday expenses like food, household items, petrol, and occasionally new tracks for the racing simulator he keeps at home. But when it comes to the garage, the newly crowned champion confessed there are a couple of machines he would really like to buy, making a new car the chosen reward for his title win.
The celebrations do not stop in the garage, either. Antonelli also intends to follow through on a promise to dye his hair, admitting he already has the cans ready. The only question left is the timing: whether to change his look immediately over the weekend or wait until he visits the factory in Brackley to speak in front of all the employees.
Walking into the factory with dyed hair would certainly make for an unforgettable entrance. For a driver who prefers a quiet life of simulators over shopping sprees, these celebrations offer a rare glimpse of indulgence after a historic championship campaign.
