Maciej Gladysz is heading back to familiar surroundings for the 2027 Formula 3 season, signing with MP Motorsport in a move aimed squarely at championship glory.
The Polish driver has deep roots with the Dutch outfit, having spent his first two seasons in single-seater racing under their banner. That successful partnership yielded a third-place finish in both the 2024 Formula Winter Series and the Spanish F4 Championship. Following that, Gladysz and MP claimed victory in the 2025 Eurocup-3 Spanish Winter Championship before he spent a year away from the team. Now, he is delighted to be back.
“Obviously it's quite good to be back,” Gladysz said. “I used to race for the team in the Spanish F4 and Eurocup-3 championship. I know most of the people, so I'm happy to be back with them.”
Returning to the fold brings clear advantages, not least because the 18-year-old will no longer carry rookie status when the grid lines up. He bagged several points finishes during the early part of his rookie campaign and delivered a standout performance at Silverstone by winning the Feature Race. However, the final three rounds proved difficult as he failed to score. Those late struggles have highlighted clear areas for improvement ahead of the new campaign, with qualifying performance sitting at the very top of the priority list.
“I think, obviously what I need to work on is quali,” he noted. “Obviously, I need to work on quali performance. I think this year that was my main limiting factor. I think this needs to be sorted for next year. If it gets sorted, I think we will be there fighting for big points.”
While the ultimate objective for 2027 is clear, Gladysz is refusing to burden himself with excessive pressure, preferring to focus instead on maintaining steady consistency and enjoying the racing machine beneath him.
“Well, the goal, obviously, is winning the championship,” he said. “But the first thing I want to focus on is to keep being consistent. I am not putting any pressure on myself because I want to keep enjoying it as much as possible. I hope, in the end, the result will be there, so let’s see.”
