Now, this is how you make an entrance. Cupra Kiro has just pulled the covers off its challenger for the upcoming Gen4 campaign, showcasing a striking evolution of the visual identity that has defined the squad since the co-title partnership between Kiro Race Co and Cupra began in 2024. The machine keeps its signature fluorescent yellow at the absolute heart of the design, beautifully paired with the trademark copper tones of high-performance brand Cupra. It is sharp, it is loud, and it absolutely means business.
To mark the arrival of what the championship is calling its fastest and most thrilling era to date, the livery adopts a far more aggressive character. The bold lines etched across the bodywork are meant to mirror the sheer, visceral driving experience packed into this new breed of machinery. And let me tell you, the numbers behind these machines are nothing short of insane.
There’s a real sense of faith and belief within the team, and we’re hungry to turn that into performance when we go racing later this year. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve.
We are talking about a beast capable of hitting speeds in excess of 335kph. The acceleration figures are genuinely mind-blowing: 0 to 100kph comes up in approximately 1.8 seconds, while the sprint from 0 to 200kph takes just 4.4 seconds, making it a staggering 1.5 seconds faster than its predecessor. When race mode kicks in, Gen4 delivers 50% more power than the current Gen3 Evo race car. In qualifying mode, these cars will be an average of 10 seconds faster per lap than the outgoing generation. Drop it into Attack Mode, and the system churns out up to 600kW of power—a 71% increase in base output over the Gen3 Evo. Oh, and it pulls it all off as the only single-seater race car equipped with permanent all-wheel drive.
Behind the wheel of this engineering marvel, the team has locked in a seriously exciting lineup. Pepe Martí and Jake Hughes will take on driving duties, combining youth, experience, and pure speed into a package that looks ready to turn heads right out of the box.
Cupra Kiro Team Principal Russell O’Hagan is understandably thrilled about what lies ahead. "Unveiling our GEN4 car is a significant moment for the whole team," O'Hagan said. "Collectively, we’ve put an enormous amount of work into preparing for this defining new era of Formula E, and launching our season today is the product of a huge amount of dedication made across the entire organisation."
O'Hagan added that the technical package and the driver lineup give them a genuine shot at the front of the grid. "We know that the level of competition will be extremely high, but we’re entering this season with a clear ambition to challenge and to establish ourselves as contenders," he noted. "There’s a real sense of faith and belief within the team, and we’re hungry to turn that into performance when we go racing later this year. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve."
