Genesis Magma Racing has wasted no time looking ahead, confirming that Daniel Juncadella will remain behind the wheel of their GMR-001 for the 2027 season, as Motorsport.com Italia reports. The Korean brand's squad locked in the Spaniard's future during the weekend of the 6h de Barcelona. It is a fitting backdrop for the announcement, given it is the driver's home race.
Beyond his duties in the Oreca-chassised Hypercar prototype, Juncadella's deep background with production-derived cars will play a crucial role for the team. Genesis is leaning on that expertise to help develop their upcoming Concept GT3 machine, which was initially unveiled at the 24h de Le Mans and will soon take official shape.

For now, the 35-year-old is focused on wrapping up his debut campaign in the Hypercar category. He shares driving duties in the #19 Genesis Magma Racing Genesis GMR-001 with Paul-Loup Chatin and Mathieu Jaminet.
