The Chase presented by Mobil 1 heads to the biggest and baddest of them all. A postseason tripleheader is on deck this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, starting with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on Friday, the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series on Saturday, and culminating with the NASCAR Cup Series on Sunday. It serves as the antepenultimate race for all three divisions, with plenty on the line in the high-speed draft.
There is a crucial catch for the weekend: there is no practice for all three series. Drivers and teams will have to find their footing immediately on the Alabama high banks.
For the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, single-truck qualifying is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. ET on Friday, broadcast on FS2, with two trucks going home. Moving to Saturday, the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will hold single-car qualifying at 11 a.m. ET on ESPN Unlimited, where three cars will go home.
Finally, the premier NASCAR Cup Series single-car qualifying will take place at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, live on truTV.
With the championship battle tightening up as the antepenultimate round arrives, every single lap and starting position on the high banks carries massive weight.
