"This was the main goal at the start of the year, to get the championship. I think after quali we knew we did our job, we did the main task, and today, and yesterday, it was just about execution and getting the points and bringing it home."

Coming into the final weekend, Ugochukwu noted they were fortunate to sit 15 points behind, using that gap to apply pressure before perfecting the finale.
The year-long duel against Slater proved to be an intense affair. Ugochukwu admitted that testing and Round 1 made it clear they would likely be the two drivers fighting for the crown at the end. Even so, arriving at the final race tied on points was pure insanity. "So just obviously really happy to get it done and to clinch the title and to come out on top," he reflected.
It rounds off an astonishing 2026 campaign for the 19-year-old, who also kicked off the year by winning the Formula Regional Oceania Championship in New Zealand—also ahead of Slater.
