Here is a piece of news that matters: Ferrari have officially confirmed that Alba Larsen will return for a third campaign in F1 ACADEMY next season, making her the very first driver to ever contest three seasons in the all-female series. It is a massive vote of confidence for the young talent, who continues her journey as part of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy.
This extension was made possible thanks to a rule change introduced last year. The provision is available exclusively to drivers whose performances demonstrate strong potential for continued growth, and the Dane has certainly shown she belongs. Signed by the SFDA midway through her debut 2025 season where she pulled off 10 top-10 finishes in the Tommy Hilfiger car, she has only gotten stronger since.
I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027.
Switching to the Ferrari car this year, she recently broke through for her first podium in the series by securing back-to-back P2 finishes in Zandvoort. The 17-year-old currently sits fourth in the drivers’ standings with two rounds remaining in Austin and Las Vegas, adding to an already impressive résumé that includes her first win in British F4 earlier this season.
Reflecting on the milestone, Larsen shared her thoughts on the journey so far. "After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become," she said.
She also credited the leadership and support surrounding her machine. "Susie [Wolff, F1 ACADEMY Managing Director] and the team keep pushing it forward, the fans bring so much energy, and I’ve had an incredible team around me.
