Here is a stunning bit of news from the paddock: Ferrari have announced that Alba Larsen is coming back for a third campaign in F1 ACADEMY, making her the absolute first driver to ever tackle a third season in the all-female series. She will continue as part of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy next season, keeping her partnership with the team going strong.
Now, how is a third season even possible? Thanks to a rule change announced last year, this extra year is available exclusively to drivers whose performance shows strong potential for continued growth. The Dane earned her spot under this exact provision. Signed by the SFDA midway through her debut 2025 season, she managed ten top-10 finishes in the Tommy Hilfiger car before switching to the Ferrari car this year and recently claiming her first podiums in the series with back-to-back P2 finishes in Zandvoort.
Susie [Wolff, F1 ACADEMY Managing Director] and the team keep pushing it forward, the fans bring so much energy, and I’ve had an incredible team around me.
The 17-year-old currently sits fourth in the drivers’ standings, and she has even added to her CV with her first win in British F4 earlier this season. With two rounds left in Austin and Las Vegas, she still has plenty of racing left on the immediate horizon before even looking ahead to 2027.
Reflecting on the announcement, Larsen shared her thoughts on the journey so far. "After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become," she said.
She also credited the people around her for the progress. "Susie [Wolff, F1 ACADEMY Managing Director] and the team keep pushing it forward, the fans bring so much energy, and I’ve had an incredible team around me."
"I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027," Larsen added.
