Here is some genuinely massive news from Maranello: Alba Larsen is officially locked in to return for a third campaign in F1 Academy, making history as the very first driver to ever contest three seasons in the all-female championship. She will stick with the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy for next year, taking full advantage of a rule change introduced last year that exclusively rewards drivers showing strong potential for continued growth.
Looking back at her journey, the Dane was originally signed by the SFDA midway through her debut 2025 season, where she ground out 10 top-10 finishes driving the Tommy Hilfiger car. She then transitioned to the Ferrari machine for this year, a move that recently yielded her breakthrough podiums with back-to-back P2 finishes in Zandvoort.
I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027,
The 17-year-old currently holds fourth place in the drivers' standings, with only the Austin and Las Vegas rounds remaining on the calendar. If that was not enough, she also managed to grab her first victory in British F4 earlier this season, proving her racecraft across multiple categories.
Reflecting on the milestone, Larsen shared her thoughts on the journey so far. "After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become," she said. She also shouted out Susie Wolff and the team for pushing the championship forward, while praising the energy of the fans and her support crew.
"I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027," Larsen added. It is a stunning vote of confidence in a young machine-whisperer whose trajectory is only pointing upwards.
