Here is a stunning piece of news from Maranello: Alba Larsen is staying put. Ferrari have announced that the young Dane will become the very first driver to contest a third campaign in F1 Academy, locking down her seat for next season as part of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy.
It is a massive vote of confidence, made possible by a rule change announced last year that grants a third season exclusively to drivers whose performance shows strong potential for continued growth. Larsen certainly fits that bill. Signed by the SFDA midway through her debut 2025 season where she bagged 10 top-10 finishes in the Tommy Hilfiger car, she made the switch to the Ferrari car this year and recently broke through for her maiden podium with back-to-back P2 finishes in Zandvoort.

The 17-year-old currently sits fourth in the drivers’ standings with two rounds remaining in Austin and Las Vegas. If that wasn't enough to keep her busy, she also managed to score her first win in British F4 earlier this season.
Reflecting on the announcement, Larsen shared her thoughts on the journey so far. "After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become," she said.
"Susie [Wolff, F1 ACADEMY Managing Director] and the team keep pushing it forward, the fans bring so much energy, and I’ve had an incredible team around me," Larsen added. "I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027.”
