Here is the thing about racing: sometimes an announcement drops that completely reshapes the landscape, and that is exactly what is happening in the FIM Women's Circuit Racing World Championship. Starting in 2027, CFMOTO will step in as the exclusive motorcycle supplier for the series under a three-season agreement.
The machines will be powered by a 675cc three-cylinder engine. The 675SR-R brings around 15 hp more than the current platform, combining proven racing DNA with a serious step up in performance. This shift is designed to push the competitors to broaden their skills and adapt to different engine characteristics, ensuring an even more exciting spectacle on track.
Despite the muscle upgrade, the series is keeping its soul intact. WorldWCR will retain its strict one-make format, meaning every single rider stays on identical machinery and pure rider talent remains the absolute core of the competition.
That is not even the only major technical change arriving at the same time. The switch in machinery also coincides with Michelin stepping in as the single tyre supplier for WorldWCR from 2027 onwards. Plus, the partnership deepens the championship's ties with China, feeding the series' ambition to reach fresh audiences and explore new destinations.
Samantha Liu, General Manager of CFMOTO Motorsports Management Center, shared her thoughts on the milestone: “Becoming the official motorcycle supplier for the 2027–2029 WorldWCR seasons marks an important new chapter in CFMOTO’s global motorsport journey. It also reflects our long-term commitment to the development of motorcycle racing. We look forward to working closely with WorldWCR and all our partners to further advance women’s motorcycle racing and to bring greater global attention to the speed, passion and potential of female riders.”
Gregorio Lavilla, WorldSBK Executive Director, added: “Since WorldWCR began, our ambition has been to create more opportunities and build strong competition. Continuing to raise the bar for the riders is a key part of that. The CFMOTO 675SR-R gives our riders a more powerful motorcycle to master and a new challenge to help them develop, while retaining the equal technical conditions that make their ability count. We are pleased to welcome CFMOTO for the next three seasons and look forward to working together to develop WorldWCR on track and extend its international reach.”
