Here is the thing, engine regulations in this sport leave zero room for error, and Leopard Racing has just hit a massive wall at the Grand Prix of Hungary. The FIM MotoGP Stewards hit Leopard Racing rider Adrian Fernandez with a disqualification covering the first six Grands Prix of the season, splitting the penalty across two separate cases. The first case covers the Thai, Brazilian, US, and Spanish GPs, while the second wraps up the French and Catalan GPs. Both of these harsh sanctions come down directly to the engines used at those specific events.
Naturally, the team fought back. Leopard Racing lodged a proper appeal against the sanctions, bringing the matter before the FIM Appeal Stewards for a formal hearing. Unfortunately for them, the FIM Appeal Stewards completely upheld the original judgements of the FIM MotoGP Stewards, leaving the appeals officially denied.
That said, the legal road is not entirely dead for the team yet. Leopard Racing still holds the right to take the decision of the FIM Appeal Stewards further, with an option to appeal to the International Court of Appeal before the competent Tribunal of the Canton of Vaud.
