Here is some genuinely massive news from Maranello: Ferrari have announced that Alba Larsen will return for a third campaign in F1 ACADEMY, making her the very first driver to ever contest three seasons in the all-female series. She will continue as part of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy next season, securing her seat for 2027 thanks to a rule change announced last year that is available exclusively to drivers whose performance indicates strong potential for continued growth.
Looking back at her journey so far, it is quite the trajectory. The Dane was signed by the SFDA midway through her debut F1 ACADEMY season in 2025, where she managed to rack up 10 top-10 finishes in the Tommy Hilfiger car. For this year, she made the switch to the Ferrari car and recently broke through to claim her first podium in the series, securing back-to-back P2 finishes in Zandvoort.
I’ve grown a lot here too. I’m really proud to be part of it and can’t wait to be back on the grid with Scuderia Ferrari HP in 2027,
The 17-year-old currently sits fourth in the drivers’ standings, and there are still two rounds remaining in Austin and Las Vegas to add to that tally. To top it all off, she also managed to score her first win in British F4 earlier this season.
Reflecting on the announcement, Larsen shared her excitement for the future of the championship. "After two years in F1 ACADEMY, I’ve seen first-hand how much this series has grown and how important it’s become," she said. She also praised the wider paddock effort: "Susie and the team keep pushing it forward, the fans bring so much energy, and I’ve had an incredible team around me."
