That famous name carries serious weight in Argentine motorsport, and now it is Luis José Di Palma's turn to hit a massive milestone. The driver from Arrecifes, son of José Luis Di Palma and grandson of two-time champion Rubén Luis Di Palma, is reaching 200 Turismo Carretera competitions this weekend in Rosario.
Following a stint in TC Pista from 2004 to 2006 and years in other categories, Josito debuted in the main division in 2011 aboard a Torino, keeping the family lineage alive. By 2013, he achieved one of his strongest seasons by securing 5 podiums, qualifying for the Copa de Oro, finishing third in the championship standings, and standing tall as the top Torino driver.
His maiden victory arrived on August 10, 2014, in Olavarría. Further wins followed in Comodoro Rivadavia in 2015 and Concepción in 2016, before his stellar 2017 campaign where triumphs in Neuquén, Concepción del Uruguay, and Comodoro Rivadavia propelled him to third overall once again.
Shifting gears across manufacturers, Josito moved to Dodge in 2018 before switching to Ford, where he added more wins in 2021 at San Juan and Toay. After sitting out the 2023 and 2024 seasons, he returned in 2025 with Chevrolet before jumping to a Toyota for the RUS MED Team in 2026, making him one of the select few to race all four iconic brands.
Over the course of his 15-year career and 200 races, Josito has accumulated 8 victories, 6 pole positions, 21 podiums, 18 heat wins, and 2 lap records. To mark the occasion in Rosario, a commemorative present was handed to him by Facundo Gil Bicella, a member of the Comisión Directiva.
