Now, this is how you announce a race weekend. The Gran Premio AFA de Rosario is officially locked in as the third round of the Copa de Oro in Turismo Carretera, and the buildup kicked off with actual machines tearing down Boulevard Oroño before a press conference by the Parque Independencia lake.
The streets echoed with pure motorsport history during the demonstration run. Ignacio Faín took out his Torino, Nicolás Moscardini drove a Ford Mustang, Marcos Quijada piloted a Camaro, and Faustino Cifre rounded out the modern field in another Mustang. But the real treats for the purists were the historic machines: Juan José “Mago” Ebarlin handled the iconic 1995 Chevy belonging to Juan María Traverso, while Gaspar Chansard slipped behind the wheel of Omar “Gurí” Martinez's 2015 championship-winning Ford Falcón.
A heavy-hitting roster of drivers joined the proceedings for the subsequent press conference by the lake. Agustín Canapino, Facundo Ardusso, Julián Santero, Norberto Fontana, and Thomas Pozner all stepped up alongside Fórmula 2 driver Ignacio “Nacho” Monti.
Institutional figures also laid out the stakes for the future. Fernando Miori, the General Manager of the ACTC, spoke about the genuine excitement of bringing the series back to this circuit. Meanwhile, Autódromo President Fabián Svegliatti detailed the facility upgrades and delivered a massive surprise by confirming Rosario as the season-opening round for 2027. Government presence was rounded out by Sebastián Chale, the Secretary of Government for Rosario, cementing total backing from local authorities for the return of Argentina's premier category.
