After an absence of 14 years, Turismo Carretera is finally making its return to Río Cuarto. While that news alone is enough to get any racing fan paying attention, the weekend holds an entirely different level of significance for Marco Dianda. Hailing from Guatimozin in the province of Córdoba, the driver is practically racing in his own backyard and admits he is feeling the intensity of the occasion alongside his home crowd.
"It is a very important date for me because we are racing near my town and because it is also in our province," Dianda explained. "I will try to enjoy it to the maximum. Sportingly it is also important because we are fighting to enter the Copa de Oro through the system of three of the last minute. I am very happy to experience this upcoming date."
There is real work to be done on the track, however. A costly contact with Jonatan Castellano back in Rosario stripped the team of valuable points, leaving Dianda eager to bounce back with a strong haul. "The touch with Jonatan relegated us a lot, but we will try to secure things in Río Cuarto," he noted. Sitting seventh in the standings, the driver knows he must solidify his position during the penultimate round scheduled for the weekend of November 13 and 14.
Despite that setback in Rosario, the 2026 campaign has proven to be a positive experience overall. Entering his debut year, Dianda has found plenty of reasons to be satisfied with his progress. Looking ahead to the upcoming challenge, preparation has been intense due to the nature of the venue. "For Río Cuarto we are working a lot because it is a fast circuit, with a new variant that nobody knows and that will lead us to be more than attentive," he added.
